Starting this week, Meta AI will begin rolling out in 41 European countries, including those in the European Union, as well as 21 overseas territories. Once rolled out, Meta AI will be restricted to the company's core social apps — Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Messenger. According to Meta's German agency, the AI assistant won't be coming to Ray-Ban | Meta Smart Glasses or Meta Quest headsets in Germany and other regions where the AI features haven't been activated yet.

In November 2024, Meta AI was launched on Ray-Ban | Meta Smart Glasses in the first European countries: France, Italy, Ireland, and Spain. Users in these countries can ask the AI assistant questions. The multimodal function of Meta AI ("Meta AI with Vision") is not supported and is still only available in the USA, Canada, and Australia.

In July 2024, a multimodal Meta AI also introduced as an experimental feature on Meta Quest 3, but again, only in the US and Canada, probably due to regulatory reasons.
