What is Into The Radius 2?
Into the Radius was inspired by the science fiction novel Roadside Picnic (1971), in which daring treasure hunters, known as stalkers, venture into a dangerous zone full of physical anomalies to recover valuable artifacts. The same book also inspired GSC Game World's S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games.
The first part was released first for PC VR, then Meta Quest and later Playstation VR 2. It quickly became a VR hit with a loyal fan base. The VR game focuses on survival in the so-called Pechorsk Zone and places great emphasis on realism and a large selection of customizable firearms. Players must collect loot in the zone, manage scarce resources and maintain their equipment to survive against the anomalous entities and advance deeper into the zone.
The sequel Into The Radius 2 was released in Early Access on Steam in July 2024. Since then, two major updates have been released with Update 0.11 and Update 0.12, while the first beta of Update 0.13 is planned to be released this month.
Into the Radius 2 builds on the strengths of the original. Key enhancements include co-op for up to three players, larger and more graphically detailed areas with better lighting and weather effects, more intelligent enemy AI, a more complex weapon customization system, and more realistic survival mechanics.
