One of VR's most popular shooters finally gets a PVE mode
The extraction shooter Ghosts of Tabor can now be played exclusively against AI enemies, either solo or in a team.
Ghosts of Tabor has received its biggest update yet. The 'Directive Zero' update includes the long-awaited PvE mode, as well as a host of other improvements and new content.
In Ghosts of Tabor, you fight AI opponents and humans. Although there was already a training mode (also known as offline raid mode), you could not lose equipment or take loot with you in this mode.
The new PvE mode offers a fully-fledged progression path separate from the PvPvE mode. The PvE mode can be played solo or cooperatively with two friends. The latter requires the purchase of the new Team Tactics DLC, but only the squad leader needs to actually own the DLC.
To make the PvE mode more challenging, Combat Waffle has improved the AI. The opponents are now faster to react to your actions and more intelligent and dangerous overall. These AI improvements also apply to the PvPvE mode.
The update also brings a new mission system that introduces story-driven quests where you can meet new characters, complete new mission objectives and learn more about the game's lore. It offers more than 135 missions and 300 repeatable tasks for more gameplay variety. The new mission system is available in both PvPvE and PvE modes.
Also included in the update is the Chodov Shopping Mall map for up to 12 players, a new weapon (MCX Spear) and a new weapon skin system.

What is Ghosts of Tabor?
Ghosts of Tabor is an extraction and survival shooter inspired by games like Escape from Tarkov, DayZ and Arma, and designed from the ground up for virtual reality.
You explore vast maps alone or in squads of up to three players, hunting for loot and fighting human and AI-controlled enemies.
Captured equipment, weapons, ammunition, medicine, food, and water can be taken back to your personal bunker - provided you make it to the extraction point alive. The game also features a crafting system, trading, and missions that unlock special items.
Ghosts of Tabor has been one of the most successful VR games of the past two years, generating $20 million in revenue since its early access launch in March 2023. Currently, it is still in early access.
