The creative sandbox VR game Gadgeteer has received an update for Quest 3 and Quest 3S that introduces a mixed reality mode.

This allows players to use their real-world environment to build crazy Rube Goldberg machines, combining digital creativity with the physical world. Over 100 unique building blocks and gadgets are available for experimentation. Built machines can be saved and reloaded in the same environment. You can see what this looks like in the new mixed reality trailer below.

“Gadgeteer is the ideal game for mixed reality,” says Metanaut's Creative Director Kao. “Chain reaction machines inherently rely on the clever use of the surrounding environment. With this update, our players can now build complex, imaginative machines that weave through their furniture, bounce off of their walls, and use the unique contours of their homes as canvases. This update is all about giving players more opportunities to be more creative and innovative using their familiar surroundings.”

You can purchase Gadgeteer for $17 in the Horizon Store. Only Quest 3S and Quest 3 support the new mixed reality mode.
