First hands-on video of Alien: Rogue Incursion shows gameplay on PSVR 2
Exclusive hands-on video shows off the intense survival horror of Alien: Rogue Incursion for Playstation VR 2.
A new gameplay video from PlayStation Underground shows off the mix of survival horror and action that Alien: Rogue Incursion will offer for Playstation VR 2 and PC VR on December 19.
According to the developers, the story of the VR game takes place between the first two Alien movies. You take on the role of Zula, who, together with the android Davis, is searching for a missing colleague named Ben.
Realistic interactions and intelligent Xenomorphs
The gameplay demonstrated the physics-based interaction system: Weapons and equipment are placed directly on the virtual body — the pistol on the right hip, the assault rifle over the right shoulder and the iconic motion sensor over the left shoulder.
Reloading is also done manually and requires realistic movements such as loading magazines or reloading the weapon. According to the developers, the Xenomorphs behave dynamically. They can walk on both two and four legs, climb walls and ceilings, and hide in the environment.
The video shows intense encounters with the aliens attacking from all directions.
Authentic Alien Atmosphere
In Alien: Rogue Incursion, you will need to take a tactical approach, such as locking doors or blocking ventilation shafts to restrict the movement of the Xenomorphs. Managing resources such as ammunition and healing syringes also plays an important role.
The shown mission takes place in an abandoned colony in the style of the movie "Aliens". The detailed environments with smoke-filled corridors, flickering lights and industrial design are strongly based on the look of the second movie. The soundscape with the characteristic sounds of the Xenomorphs also contributes to the oppressive atmosphere.
The game also contains puzzle elements and narrative sequences that drive the story forward. In one dramatic scene, for example, you must save the damaged android Davis by separating his head from his body and taking him to a repair station.
