Europa-Park presents the new VR attraction “Eurosat Coastiality — The Phantom of the Opera” in the French themed area in spring 2024. Guests will be able to immerse themselves in the world of the award-winning musical “The Phantom of the Opera” during a fast-paced roller coaster ride with a VR headset. The attraction was developed by MACK One in partnership with VR Coaster and seats up to 14 guests. Tickets are available at the entrance for 7 Euros.
Before the ride begins, you will visit the pre-show room, where you will be fitted with VR headsets and headphones to prepare you for the experience. You can watch a teaser trailer via the link at the end of the article.
An icon of horror literature comes to VR
Set at the Opéra Populaire in the 19th century, The Phantom of the Opera tells the tragic love story of a disfigured musical genius known as the Phantom, who lives in the catacombs of the Paris Opera, and a young singer named Christine. Gaston Leroux's novel became world famous thanks to Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical adaptation.
Germany's largest theme park is constantly introducing new VR and AR attractions. One of the most famous is Amber Blake: Operation Dragonfly, where you compete in teams in a haptic environment using special VR headsets with full-body tracking.
Europa-Park recently unveiled "Voltron ChARge", an AR experience for smartphones that brings a miniature version of the giant roller coaster into your living room. The park has received the Aurea Award for Outstanding VR and AR Attractions and Innovations for its immersive experiences.
