EA Sports announces virtual reality mode for racing sim WRC
The upcoming racing simulation WRC from EA Sports will also be playable in virtual reality. PSVR 2 users, however, will be left empty-handed.
WRC is the latest racing game from EA Sports. Developed by the racing pros at Codemasters, players will be able to race on nearly twenty different rally tracks starting in November. Good news for VR fans: WRC gets a virtual reality mode.
VR mode for WRC: PSVR 2 left behind
WRC is a racing simulation with the official license of the FIA World Rally Championship and will be released on November 3 for PC, Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. The game's official Steam page also mentions a VR mode. However, this will not be available on the official release date of the game, but will be added via an update. When exactly is not yet known.
Although WRC will also be released for Sony's current PS5 console, the VR mode is listed as exclusive to PC VR. PSVR-2 users will be left out in the cold. Whether Codemasters and EA Sports will bring the mode to Sony's VR headset at a later date remains to be seen.
Until then, PSVR-2 players will have to make do with Gran Turismo 7. The latest installment of the PS5-exclusive racing series shone in our PSVR 2 test with excellent graphics and a compelling driving experience.
