Contractors Showdown: New Exfil mode brings survival shooting to the VR shooter
Caveman Studio brings an update for Contractors Showdown with the Exfil mode. The alpha is available for free on Quest and Steam.
Developer Caveman Studio has released a new game mode for Contractors Showdown called "Exfil Zone". According to the studio, the mode offers a "slower and more tactical gameplay experience" on a reworked map.
Exfil Zone is all about survival and looting. You have over 50 weapons with various attachments at your disposal, as well as new defense equipment such as helmets and night vision devices.
The mode allows different play styles: you can either start with basic equipment or better equipped, but with the risk of losing your equipment. A new attachment system allows you to customize your loadouts. Merchants award missions during the game, allowing you to unlock better equipment and resources.
Caveman Studio has also integrated base building elements that allow for meta progression outside of matches. In addition, you now have to heal certain body parts separately and treat specific injuries.
The alpha version of Exfil Zone is free to play on Quest and Steam until the end of the year - even without owning the main game.
Season 1 brings vehicles and weather effects
Contractors Showdown recently launched its first season, which adds several new features to the game. For the first time, you can use vehicles to move around the map. Three different vehicle types are available, which can carry several passengers.
A new dynamic weather system influences your game strategy by changing visibility conditions. The arsenal of weapons has been expanded to include melee weapons, a compound bow and light machine guns. C4 explosive charges can now also be placed - even on vehicles.
With "The Reborn", Season 1 introduces a 30-player mode with a respawn mechanism. Knocked out players initially end up in a "prison" where they can fight for a second chance in 1-on-1 duels. There is also a Battle Pass with cosmetic rewards and two new playable characters.
