Time-bending VR shooter Cold VR gets new February release date
Keep moving or die trying in this action-packed VR experience. A fresh twist on the Superhot formula arrives next month.
After a brief delay, Cold VR has locked in its new release date, launching February 11, 2025, for Meta Quest and PC VR via Steam. Developer Allware LLC pushed the game back a few weeks from its original January 21 release to add final polish. A Playstation VR 2 version is planned for later in 2025, with the game priced at $19.99.
Superhot with reversed signs
Cold VR puts an inventive spin on time manipulation in VR combat. While VR classic Superhot only advances time when players move, Cold VR flips this mechanic: players must stay in constant motion to dodge bullets and fight back. The moment you stop moving, the AI enemies spring into action.
The game features diverse environments, from pirate ships to surreal back rooms and laser-filled obstacle courses with moving platforms. Players face off against minimalist, monochrome enemies using both melee weapons like katanas and firearms like revolvers. In our hands-on with Cold VR the VR game left a positive impression.
