BoboVR now offers a cheaper alternative to Meta's Quest 3 Charging Dock

BoboVR now offers a charging dock for Meta Quest 3 that is significantly cheaper than Meta's official accessory.

FACTS

The charging dock is dubbed BoboVR D3 and simultaneously charges Quest 3, the Touch Plus controllers (wirelessly via rechargeable batteries) and a B100 battery. The latter is used in conjunction with the separately available BoboVR S3 Pro Super Strap, a headband with replaceable battery.

I have not been able to find out if the charger can also charge the battery in the S3 Pro Super Strap, i.e. two batteries at the same time. If you know, please let us know in the comments.

The controllers can be charged with the BoboVR G3 Plus Grips.

BoboVR claims that the charging dock charges the headset, controller, and battery in less than three hours when used with a 45W+ charger. The charger itself is not included. If you prefer, you can use the 18 W charger that comes with Quest 3, which is compatible with BoboVR D3.

BoboVR D3 costs $70 (including shipping) and there is a 10 percent discount until August 30th. Meta's charging dock costs almost twice as much at $130 and also comes without a charger.

CONTEXT

I have written a review of Meta's Quest 3 charging dock. Here's an excerpt of the conclusion:

"I'm very happy with the dock and can't imagine ever having to charge the headset and controller manually again. Having them all in one place, ready to go, is a big plus for me and makes me use my Quest 3 more often. The combination looks great too."

The biggest drawback of the device is its hefty price tag of $130. If you want to use the full potential of the dock, you also need to buy a 45W charger. I tried an Anker charger in my review, which saved a bit of charging time.
