The Audio Strap for Bigscreen Beyond is now shipping

Shipping of the Audio Straps has begun. Bigscreen writes:
"We're shipping out Audio Straps from our Los Angeles factory based on original preorder dates, so if you were among the first to place your order, you should be receiving your Audio Strap very soon.
For those who ordered later, don't worry – we're working diligently to get through our backlog and expect to fulfill all existing orders by mid-September. As of the time of writing this post, hundreds of Audio Straps have already shipped to customers and we expect to ship 1,000-2,000 Audio Straps each week."
The world's smallest and lightest PC VR headset will soon get an optional audio solution. Shipping will begin in August.
Bigscreen Beyond comes with a soft head strap and a USB-C port for audio devices.
In 2023, the company promised to deliver a rigid head strap with integrated headphones in the same year, but was unable to keep that promise. A June 2023 delivery date was also missed.
Bigscreen has now announced that shipping will begin in mid-August. However, it could still be a few weeks before all customers have their Audio Strap in their hands. "Based on current preorder volumes, we'll be able to produce and ship Audio Straps for all orders received so far in early October," Bigscreen wrote at the end of June.
Bigscreen promises a rigid strap and an adjustable dial that makes it easy to find the perfect fit. The integrated on-ear headphones are said to offer high-end audio and powerful bass. They are designed and manufactured by US headphone manufacturer Koss.
The Audio Strap costs $130 including VAT and shipping.
Bigscreen Beyond: an ultra-lightweight SteamVR headset with micro OLED displays
Bigscreen Beyond is the world's lightest and smallest PC VR headset visor, weighing just 127 grams (without the strap). It is based on SteamVR tracking and requires base stations and controllers, which are sold separately.
Users need to scan their face with an iPhone and receive a facial interface with a perfect fit. The IPD value is fixed to the personal interpupillary distance.
In terms of technology, the Bigscreen Beyond features a micro OLED display with a resolution of 2,560 x 2,560 pixels.
Bigscreen Beyond was launched in 2023. The very first units started shipping in September 2023, but Bigscreen had major problems with production capacity, which led to delays for many customers. Currently, the delivery time is still 6–8 weeks.
The company gave an update on the delivery situation in June, writing that it should be able to ship headsets within a week of receiving an order by mid-August.
The Bigscreen Beyond costs $1,000 including tax and US shipping.
