This is what one of the most anticipated VR games looks like on Quest 3
How does the Quest 3 version of Behemoth hold up to the PSVR 2 version? Surprisingly well, as a new trailer shows.
Skydance Interactive has released a new trailer featuring gameplay footage of Behemoth shot with Meta Quest 3, giving a first impression of the graphics on the standalone headset.
An older trailer for the PSVR 2 version shows some of the same scenes and lets us draw comparisons.
The Quest 3 version is not far behind graphically, despite being rendered on a smartphone chipset. The PSVR 2 version seems to benefit from a higher resolution, more detailed textures and post-processing effects. Nevertheless, Behemoth on Quest 3 will be a standout title in terms of graphics.
Behemoth was recently postponed and will now be released on December 5, 2024 in the Horizon Store for Meta Quest 3S, 3, 2 and Pro, in the Playstation Store for Playstation VR 2 and on Steam for PC VR headsets.
Battle for survival in a harsh world
The game is being developed by Skydance Games, creators of the highly successful The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners, and like that title, Behemoth will feature a physics-based combat system that requires skill and quick reactions.
You take on the role of Wren, a hunter who roams the cursed wastelands in search of the eponymous behemoths. Killing these giant monsters could break the curse that plagues Wren's village.
To defeat the giant creatures, you will need to be agile and use your climbing skills. Not only must you avoid the behemoths, but you must also keep marauding bandits and other enemies at bay.
