Batman Arkham Shadow: Clean up your Quest 3(S), Update 1.2 is big
Batman's VR adventure gets new challenge maps, more localized language versions, and a host of technical improvements on Quest 3(S).
Update 1.2 for Batman: Arkham Shadow delivers several fan-requested features. Highlights include a new character viewer and four new challenge maps: The Disorderlies and Rumble on Deck for Predator mode, and Stowaway Brawl and Arkham's Finest for Battle mode.
Another major new feature is localized language versions in French, German, Italian, European Spanish, Latin American Spanish, Japanese, and Korean.

The update also includes numerous bug fixes and improvements in the areas of audio, haptics, campaign, cutscenes, gameplay, and user interface. Among other things, various sound effects have been added, collisions in the game world have been corrected, and the weather effects in Chapter 3 have been improved.
However, if you want to enjoy Batman in all his new glory, you need to make room on your VR headset. Update 1.2 takes up a total of 8.9 GB on your Meta Quest 3 or Quest 3S.
The VR hit of the year
Since its release, Batman: Arkham Shadow has established itself as one of the best VR titles of the year. At the Game Awards 2024, Batman won the Best VR Game category, beating out notable competitors such as Asgard's Wrath 2 and Metro Awakening.
Developed by Meta's first-party studio Camouflaj, the game also impressed us in our review. Meta Quest 3's cinematic presentation, well-designed combat system and high-quality graphics are particularly impressive.
I only had to criticize occasional performance issues at release. However, the latest update fixes many of the technical weaknesses and leads to a smoother gaming experience.
