Assassin's Creed Nexus VR looks really good in first gameplay trailer
A new trailer for Assassin's Creed Nexus VR shows the first gameplay and reveals the release date.
Work on the game was announced three years ago, and according to IGN it is being developed by Ghost Recon studio Red Storm. It will be the first VR game set in the Assassin's Creed universe and the first to be played from a first-person perspective.
You take on the roles of three characters: Cassandra from Assassin's Creed Odyssey as you explore ancient Greece, Ezio from Assassin's Creed II as you sneak through Renaissance Venice, and Connor from Assassin's Creed 3 as you experience the American Revolution.
The trailer shows off various weapons and combat styles, as well as your acrobatic abilities, including the Leap of Faith. The video follows the official announcement in June, which revealed the first details of the VR game.
One of the biggest titles for Meta Quest
Assassin's Creed Nexus VR is announced for Meta Quest 2, 3 and Pro, and the graphics are impressive for a game running on a standalone system. Especially if the areas are as open and expansive as the trailer suggests. According to the video, the gameplay was captured in-engine, so presumably not on Meta Quest 2 or 3, but the graphics should still be representative.
Strangely, the video was only released by IGN. Is this an exclusive preview or a premature publication on IGN's part? In any case, Meta Connect 2023 doesn't start until September 27th. Meta Quest 3 and upcoming game highlights will be presented at the conference.
IGN's article and video also reveal the release date and price. Assassin's Creed Nexus VR will be released on November 16, 2023, and will cost $39.99. Ubisoft confirmed the release date to MIXED.
You can already add the game to your wishlist in the Meta Quest Store.
