Apple announces pre-order and launch date for Apple Vision Pro
The Apple Vision Pro will be available in the U.S. on February 2. Apple has not announced when it will ship to other countries.
Apple Vision Pro will be available Friday, February 2 at all U.S. Apple Store locations and the U.S. Apple Store online.
Pre-orders begin Friday, January 19, at 5 a.m. PST.
Apple Vision Pro will be available starting at $3,499 with 256GB of storage, which probably means there will be other storage options.
Apple Vision Pro comes with a Solo Knit Band as well as a Dual Loop Band we haven't seen before. The product also includes a Light Seal, two Light Seal Cushions, an Apple Vision Pro Cover for the front of the device, Polishing Cloth, Battery, USB-C Charge Cable, and USB-C Power Adapter.
Optical inserts from Zeiss will be sold separately, readers at $99, and prescription for $149.
Announced in June 2023, the Apple Vision Pro is Apple's first mixed reality headset, or spatial computer, as Apple calls the new category of devices.
The device is controlled entirely by your eyes, hands, and voice. Unlike its competitors, Apple does not use controllers. The operating system is called visionOS and is compatible with a million iOS and iPadOS apps. There will also be a new App Store with content exclusive to Vision Pro.
At launch, Apple promises a slate of productivity apps, a digital big screen and immersive video for entertainment, as well as flat and spatial games.
“The era of spatial computing has arrived,” said Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO. “Apple Vision Pro is the most advanced consumer electronics device ever created. Its revolutionary and magical user interface will redefine how we connect, create, and explore.”
