Twenty Guys is the strangest MR game yet, and I don't know what to say

Twenty Guys is an experimental MR sandbox from Resolution Games where you wreak havoc with a horde of human-like minions.

Resolution Games, known for titles such as Demeo, Spatial Ops and Home Sports, has always been known for its love of experimentation and is often one of the first studios to implement Meta's new API into their games.

With the mixed reality sandbox Twenty Guys, which has been available in Meta Quest's Early Access for a few weeks now, the studio underlines its willingness to try new things.

A meme game that brings chaos to your home

I quickly tried the experience. It starts with a cardboard box that unfolds to reveal 20 mini-humans that follow you everywhere. You can pick up the minions and throw them around the apartment, put up wooden barriers and other obstacles, let them float around the room, or hit them with baseball bats and hammers.

The violence is harmless and cartoonish: there is no blood, severed limbs, or the like. However, the creatures may scream, laugh or cheer.

The faces belong to employees of the company. In the future, you will be able to take photos of random faces and motifs while wearing the headset and apply them to the heads and outfits of your minions (see video below). This is made possible by Meta's experimental new Passthrough Camera API.

Resolution Games plans to add more objects and interactions in the future to expand the range of possibilities.

You can download Twenty Guys for free from the Horizon Store. It supports Meta Quest 3, 3S, 2 and Pro.
