A new PC VR experience lets you relive the Hindenburg's final voyage

On April 1, you can board a historic replica of the Hindenburg and relive its final, fateful voyage in VR.
The Munich-based development studio VR-Dynamix is expanding its virtual time travel platform, TimeLab, with a new DLC. Starting April 1, 2025, you can explore a meticulously recreated version of the historic airship Hindenburg on SteamVR and participate in its final voyage over New York in 1937.
The "LZ 129 Hindenburg" DLC immerses you in the interior of the Zeppelin during its transatlantic crossing. You can explore the luxurious passenger decks featuring a cocktail bar and smoking lounge, visit the control gondola, and enjoy an aerial tour over Manhattan's skyscrapers. Additionally, you'll witness the Hindenburg's tragic fire and crash during its landing in Lakehurst in May 1937.
In addition to the immersive time travel experience, the DLC provides detailed background information about the airship's history and includes a mini-game where you navigate the Hindenburg through New York's urban canyons.
TimeLab is available for free on Steam. The price for the Hindenburg DLC will be $10.
Virtual time travels with TimeLab
TimeLab is a VR platform that allows you to visit significant historical events and places in a detailed simulation. Each piece of content is available as a separate DLC and provides access to a different time travel destination.
Currently, TimeLab includes the upcoming Hindenburg DLC and two other pieces of free content: "Falkenstein" lets you visit a replica of Ludwig II's never-realized dream castle, while "Apollo 11" lets you experience the first moon landing up close. More modules will follow in the future.
In developing TimeLab, the Munich-based studio VR-Dynamix relied on thorough research to recreate the historical locations in VR as faithfully as possible. The goal is to impart knowledge in an entertaining way while at the same time enabling exciting adventures in the past.
