Bigscreen Beyond 2 is off to a strong start

Bigscreen has reason to celebrate: The Beyond 2 headset is selling much faster than the original.
Sales began simultaneously with the announcement of the new product last Thursday.
In its first 24 hours, Beyond 2 sold as many units as Beyond 1 sold in its first six months since its launch two years ago, or ten times as many units as the original sold at launch, CEO Darshan Shankar announced on X.
In the first 24 hours, Beyond 2 has sold 10 TIMES as many Beyond 1s sold on its launch day 2 years ago.

AdAdThat's exceptional.

The successful launch shows that Beyond fans trust the company to deliver on its promises, and that Bigscreen may have reached new audiences. A video on the Youtube tech channel Optimum reached 1.3 million views over the weekend, which may further helped to boost sales.
No sales figures have been provided yet. On Steam, Bigscreen Beyond is one of the lesser used PC VR headsets, with a user share of 0.45 percent (as of February 2025). This figure is expected to increase in the coming months. Due to the high demand, new customers will have to wait until at least June 2025 for delivery.
VR enthusiast Norman Chan of Tested published a Youtube video yesterday with his first impressions of the device.
Bigscreen Beyond 2: A much improved 2nd generation
Bigscreen Beyond is known for its exceptionally slim form factor and low weight. This is made possible by highly optimized engineering and the fact that the tracking and computing is done externally. The VR headset requires a PC, cable and SteamVR tracking through at least two base stations.
Bigscreen Beyond 2 addresses two of the biggest criticisms of the original. The pancake lenses have been improved and now offer a wider field of view, less glare and a clearer image right to the edges. In addition, the IPD value can now be adjusted manually instead of being fixed to an individual value. The weight of the visor has also been reduced from 127 to 107 grams.
A new, separately available Halo mount accessory allows the headset to be worn with a universal-fit light shield and therefore without a prior face scan, but will not be available until the fall. It supports the Audio Strap, which is shipping since last September. A version of the VR headset that supports eye tracking will also be released later this year.
Bigscreen Beyond 2 replaces its predecessor. The price is $1,019.
