A quirky new promotion from publisher Perp Games offers PSVR 2 owners a chance to score free DLC content — but there's an interesting twist.
In an unexpected move, Perp Games announced that anyone who purchases the digital version of Underdogs or other Perp Games titles for Playstation VR 2 will receive free DLC content for a different game entirely — VR Skater. The bonus content includes both the "VR Skater Pro Series Tour DLC" and the "VR Skater FX Truck Pack 1 DLC," which typically retail for over $16 in the PlayStation Store.
There's one obvious catch: you'll need to own VR Skater to claim the free DLC bundle. After purchasing any qualifying Perp Games title, you can simply navigate to the VR Skater Store page, select the "Perp Promo VRS DLC Bundle," and claim it for free. The publisher hasn't set an end date for this promotion, stating it will continue indefinitely.
For those interested in taking advantage of this deal, Underdogs looks particularly promising. The VR mech brawler transports players to a gritty future where they compete in underground mech battles. Underdogs is scheduled to launch on PSVR 2 on March 25, as revealed during the VR Games Showcase 2025.
Virtual skateboarding without the scrapes
VR Skater offers a virtual reality skateboarding experience that channels the spirit of classics like Tony Hawk's Pro Skater. Players can shred through various championship-inspired skate parks, racking up points through complex tricks and combinations.
The control scheme cleverly translates real skateboarding movements to hand controls, making the experience more intuitive in VR. As players progress, they earn experience points to upgrade their board, customizing everything from grip tape to decks and wheels.
While VR Skater SL is available on Meta Quest and Pico 4, the PC VR and PlayStation VR 2 versions offer significantly more content, including outdoor skate parks and enhanced graphics. These premium versions deliver a more comprehensive skateboarding experience overall.
