VR time travel adventure Wanderer sets March release for Quest and PSVR 2
After several delays, it's official: the Wanderer remake will land on Meta Quest and PSVR 2 in March.
After multiple delays, Mighty Eyes has locked in March 27, 2025, as the release date for Wanderer: The Fragments of Fate. The time-traveling VR adventure will debut on PlayStation VR 2 and Meta Quest, with release dates for Steam and Pico platforms still to be determined.
A complete remake brings major improvements
The Fragments of Fate represents a complete rebuild of the original 2022 Wanderer game, now powered by Unreal Engine 5. Players step into the shoes of Asher Neumann as they solve puzzles and navigate through different historical periods.
The remake introduces several significant upgrades:
- Entirely new graphics built in Unreal Engine 5
- Full-body avatars for enhanced immersion
- Physics-based platforming elements
- Expanded levels with additional content
- New combat features for varied gameplay
Playstation VR 2 users will also benefit from platform-specific features including eye-tracking, haptic feedback, and adaptive triggers.
A journey marked by delays finally reaches its destination
The game's path to release has been complex. Originally scheduled for June 27, 2024, it was first pushed to September 12, then to October 31, 2024, before settling on the March 2025 date.
Previous trailers have showcased the game's diverse environments, taking players from Mayan jungles to war-torn Germany, from a flooded Boston to the surface of the moon. The developers promise an immersive, global adventure where player choices directly influence the story's direction.
