At least one million people have played Batman: Arkham Shadow
VR game of the year contender Batman: Arkham Shadow was played by at least a million people.
In the Meta Quest companion app, you can see how many users have unlocked certain achievements.
The False God Achievement is unlocked relatively early in the VR game by collecting a Rat King Idol. According to the companion app, the achievement has now been unlocked by one million VR players.

Since Batman: Arkham Shadow was released exclusively for Meta Quest 3 and 3S, these numbers can only be attributed to users of these two devices.
Batman: Arkham Shadow was released in October 2024 and has been included free with every new Quest 3 and 3S purchase since September 25, 2024. The bundle offer is valid until April 30, 2025. The regular price for the VR game is $50.
At least 2 million Quest 3 and 3S headsets sold
This number does not directly reflect the number of headsets sold, as not all Quest 3 or Quest 3S users have purchased, claimed, or played Batman: Arkham Shadow.
Meta's First Encounters mixed reality tutorial, which is also exclusive to Quest 3 and 3S, has now been completed by 2.13 million players, as indicated by the corresponding achievement.
This means that Meta has sold at least two million units (Quest 3 and 3S). However, the actual number is likely to be higher, as not all users have completed the tutorial or even launched it.
What is Batman: Arkham Shadow?
Batman: Arkham Shadow is a game in the Arkham series designed from the ground up for virtual reality. It was developed by Meta's first-party studio Camouflaj (Marvel's Iron Man VR), which was acquired by Meta in 2022.
Batman: Arkham Shadow was named Best VR Game of the Year at The Game Awards and is currently nominated in four categories for the DICE Awards 2025. Winners will be announced on February 13, 2025.
Three major updates have been released for Batman: Arkham Shadow so far, with a fourth announced for February.
