Work out in a VR fantasy world with Fitness Fables on Meta Quest
Fitness Fables combines an epic fantasy story with crisp VR training — developed with professional personal trainers.
A new VR fitness game called Fitness Fables blends an epic fantasy story with intense workout sessions, developed in collaboration with professional personal trainers.
Players take on the role of guardians tasked with restoring magical balance to the world of Alterterra. The story spans 80 levels with roughly 24 hours of gameplay, featuring more than 25 different exercises suitable for various fitness levels.
The 20-person development team built on their experience from their previous title, Divine Duel, where they first tackled the challenge of combining physical activity with traditional gaming mechanics.
Immersion Games plans to release Fitness Fables on January 30, 2025, for Meta Quest 3, Quest 3S, and all current Quest headsets.
Mixed reality and customizable difficulty
The game offers several distinctive features:
- Players can explore the magical world of Alterterra through various environments that test agility, strength, and strategy. Each level incorporates physical activity, from rowing across waters to gliding down snowy slopes.
- A dedicated mixed reality mode lets players see their body and surroundings while playing, making it particularly useful for smaller spaces.
- The difficulty can be adjusted at any time to match individual fitness levels, with a progress system that rewards regular workouts through story surprises and improved stats.
- Boss battles require players to face powerful opponents, combining precise timing with physical effort — like blocking attacks with shields or charging cannons through bicep curls.
Immersion Games plans to expand Fitness Fables after launch with updates and events. Interested players can pre-order the VR fitness game through the Meta Horizon Store.
