Meta Quest's mixed reality piano app gets a major update
PianoVision for Meta Quest gets an update with improved mixed reality, thousands of new songs and an AI piano teacher.
PianoVision has received its biggest update yet. Version 2.0 brings a revamped user interface with improved mixed reality features, an even larger music library with thousands of licensed songs (subscription-based) and an AI piano teacher.
- Enhanced mixed reality capabilities: A redesigned user interface with improved hand tracking and visual feedback makes the experience more intuitive and immersive than ever. Also new are curated mixed reality environments that seamlessly integrate into your living room.
- The update also introduces PianoVision Plus, a subscription offering with more than 10,000 popular songs. This includes songs from The Beatles, Disney, John Legend, Ed Sheeran and more. Without a subscription, over 1,000 public domain songs and lessons are still available.
- Ludwig, the AI piano teacher: This personalized mentor provides real-time feedback, answers technique questions, recommends songs, and adapts to the user's skill level.
You can purchase PianoVision from the Horizon Store. Quest 2, 3, 3S and Pro are supported.
What is PianoVision?
PianoVision is a mixed reality app that enables intuitive piano learning with devices such as Meta Quest 3. Students play notes that appear above the keys. Users can connect a MIDI keyboard to play on a real piano or use a virtual keyboard and hand tracking.
The app features a learning engine that adapts to your own performance and breaks songs into easy-to-master sections to create customized practice sessions. With access to over 1,000 songs and exercises, and the ability to upload your own MIDI tracks, PianoVision offers a personalized and varied learning experience. In addition, the app provides detailed performance analysis, such as timing and accuracy metrics, to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
