FACTS

The 4-player holiday update for Dungeons of Eternity was released over the weekend.

Othergate has optimized the VR game so that it can handle a fourth player. This was the most requested feature, the studio writes on X.

The update also brings an experimental PVP mode that allows for deathmatches for up to four players. This means you can now bash each other's heads in if your last dungeon run didn't go as planned.

The studio also added three new monsters:

  • Sewer Tentacles - Enough said
  • Death! - He can't be killed but can be avoided - as well as a few other secret ways to deal with him.
  • The Doomer - He's a tank… Treat him as such.

The base is now decorated for Christmas, just like last year. You can throw snowballs, smash ornaments, and visit the ice rink. There are also new Christmas cosmetics that weren't available last year.

Don't miss out: Win VR games, accessories, or hardware every day on the MIXED Advent Calendar, which runs through December 2024.

The update also brings several other improvements and bug fixes, which you can read about in a developer post.

CONTEXT

What is Dungeons of Eternity?

Dungeons of Eternity is a kind of VR Diablo with procedurally generated dungeons full of enemies, traps, and puzzles.

Players fight using a physics-based system that includes melee weapons, ranged options, and magic. There are three game modes with different objectives. The goal is to level up your character and upgrade your equipment to take on increasingly difficult challenges.

Dungeons of Eternity can be played solo, but its full potential is revealed in multiplayer mode. With its mix of cooperative gameplay, varied combat techniques, and procedural level design, it offers plenty of replay value and immersive VR action.
