8 VR games to look forward to in December 2024
What VR and MR games are coming in December? Here are some of the most promising titles for all major platforms.
The following list is a subjective selection of games and is not exhaustive. Please note that some titles may be announced or postponed during the month.
Completely new releases are listed first. At the end of this article, you can find some games that are already available and will be released on new VR platforms in December.

The House of Da Vinci VR (December 4 for Meta Quest, PC VR)
In the VR port of the 2017 flat original, you take on the role of Leonardo da Vinci's apprentice and travel to your master in Florence. There you learn that he has disappeared without a trace. To find clues to his whereabouts, you must solve puzzles, find hidden objects, and escape a series of rooms.
The puzzles are inspired by Da Vinci's inventions and ideas, and many of the locations you visit are based on original artwork and the magnificent Florence of 1506. The puzzles and environments have adapted for VR.
The House of Da Vinci VR is coming to the Horizon Store and on Steam.
Skydance’s Behemoth (December 5 for Meta Quest, PC-VR, Playstation VR 2)
Behemoth is one of the most anticipated VR games of the year.
In it, you take on the role of Wren, a hunter who roams cursed wastelands to hunt down giant creatures, the eponymous Behemoths, and break the curse that has fallen upon her village.
The game is being developed by the creators of the VR hit The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners, and like that game, will feature physics-based melee combat.
Behemoth is coming to the Horizon Store and Playstation Store. It is still unclear for which PC VR platforms.
Songbird (December 5 for Meta Quest)
Songbird brings karaoke to VR without the need for a karaoke set, microphone, or other accessories.
At launch, there will be 33 hits to sing along to, including the following songs

There will be two game modes: Quick Play for relaxed sing-alongs and Performance Mode for singers looking for a challenge.
Songbird is coming to the Horizon Store.
Home Sports (December 11 for Meta Quest)
Home Sports is the latest title from Resolution Games (Demeo, Racket Club, Spatial Ops) and the first multi-sport mixed reality game. It combines pickleball, hockey, bowling, mini golf and badminton. The sports are designed to fit into your play area.
The mixed reality game features a single-player career mode, online multiplayer and Wii Sports-style local multiplayer for homes and groups of friends with multiple Quest headsets.
Home Sports is coming to the Horizon Store.
Action Hero (December 12 for Meta Quest)
Action Hero turns you into, well, an action hero. You take on the role of the main protagonist in five different movies from different genres.
Each movie is divided into acts and scenes. Most scenes feature hordes of enemy henchmen attacking your character, requiring quick reflexes and accurate aim. Special events such as additional obstacles, bosses, and elaborate backdrops add variety.
The game runs in slow motion, only speeding up when you move - similar to Superhot VR. This gives you time to react and plan your next move.
Action Hero is coming to the Horizon Store.
Alien: Rogue Incursion (December 19 for PC-VR, Playstation VR 2)
Alien: Rogue Incursion is the first Alien game developed from the ground up for virtual reality.
Playing as the marine Zula Hendricks, you travel to LV-354 to find out what happened to your friend and former teammate. It turns out that the research station there has been overrun by Xenomorphs. Upon your arrival, a fight for survival begins against genetically enhanced aliens, who are stronger, faster and more unpredictable than ever before.
Alien Rogue: Incursion is coming to Steam and the Playstation Store. The Quest version will follow on February 13, 2025.

Boxing Underdog (Meta Quest)
Boxing Underdog is a VR boxing simulation that aims to stand out from the competition with its visual and gameplay realism.
There will be a single player mode and a multiplayer mode with a customizable avatar. The former will feature a career mode where you can work your way up the ranks, as well as training modules where you can learn authentic boxing techniques and improve your footwork. For the multiplayer mode, the studio promises a friend and leaderboard, quick combat and matchmaking.
Boxing Underdog is coming to the Horizon Store.
Shattered (Meta Quest)
Shattered uses mixed reality to turn your house into a spooky escape room.
As Jessica, a private investigator, you must uncover the dark secrets of a mental institution, using your floor, ceiling, and walls to drag objects and characters from your memory into reality.
Shattered will be released for Meta Quest 3S and Quest 3 on the Horizon Store.
VR games coming out for new platforms
