Sony has previewed the PSVR 2 version of Alien: Rogue Incursion on the PlayStation Blog, detailing the features of the VR-exclusive title that will be released on all major VR platforms at the end of the year.

Survios places great emphasis on the authentic atmosphere of the Alien universe. The technology is based on the retro-future of the first two movies, with CRT monitors and analog equipment. A PDA tablet on the right arm serves as a memory and map function. The iconic motion tracker, which warns of approaching enemies, also makes an appearance and can be attached to the right bicep.

Physical interaction plays an important role: players must wipe blood off monitors, manually reload revolvers, and compensate for weapon recoil. The pulse rifle, for example, must be stabilized with both hands in order to aim accurately.

The alien hunt starts just before Christmas

According to the developer, the xenomorphs behave unpredictably and use different movement patterns. They sneak through doors standing upright, crawl on all fours, or climb along walls and ceilings. The game alternates between intense combat sequences and quieter exploration.
