FACTS

Mighty Coconut releases today the DLC "8-Bit Lair" for Walkabout Mini Golf. The new course is the third installment in the "Villain's Lair" series and puts you in a futuristic corporate skyscraper, the headquarters of billionaire hacker Vincent Vector.

As usual, the DLC offers 18 holes of golf in easy and hard modes. There are also 80s-inspired avatar cosmetics and new game mechanics such as brick-breaking and coin collecting. A themed scavenger hunt will reward you with a special commemorative putter.

Along with the release of the DLC, Walkabout Mini Golf introduces a new avatar makeover category. The free update adds four new makeup designs in different color variations to the base game.

CONTEXT

From VR to the retro arcade

Along with the DLC release, Mighty Coconut announces a partnership with Arcade Legend VR. As part of this cooperation, the original "Tourist Trap" course will be available as a playable retro arcade machine in Arcade Legend VR. The 8-bit version comes complete with themed cabinet, mini-golf joystick, chiptune music and a leaderboard.

Mighty Coconut recently released another DLC course, Mars Gardens, which invites players to play mini-golf in a futuristic bio-dome on Mars. All DLC courses are available for $3.99 for Meta Quest, Playstation VR 2, SteamVR and Pico. The iOS version Walkabout Mini Golf: Pocket Edition has also been released.
