In Prison Boss: Prohibition, you take on the role of a chicken building a criminal empire on the streets of “New Yolk City.” You make illegal goods and sell them to the city's residents. You have to dodge the police and keep the corrupt mayor happy. Booze, cigarettes, and erotic magazines are also on your production list.

Criminal chicken business in co-op mode

An important innovation compared to the predecessor Prison Boss is the co-op mode. You can now run your shady business together with a friend. The VR control scheme was specially developed for the game and should be intuitive to use.

“We only wanted to make a sequel to Prison Boss if it offered our players something new,” explains Vincent Brunet-Dupont, CEO and co-founder of Trebuchet. “We thought nothing would be fresher than making booze in co-op mode with a chicken-shaped friend.”

The gameplay promises a mix of economic simulation and stealth elements. You have to cleverly plan your production while always staying one step ahead of the police. Various upgrades for your store and equipment will help you. The more successful you are, the more influence you gain in the city.

Humorous graphics and planned further development

Trebuchet pays special attention to the game's humor. The developers promise numerous allusions and puns around the chicken theme. You not only play in “New Yolk City,” but you also have to be careful not to get caught by the “feathered arm of the law.”

Trebuchet plans to continue supporting the game after release and provide it with new content. Additional crafting options, new city districts to explore, and regular events to refresh the gameplay are planned.

Prison Boss: Prohibition will be released in spring 2025 for Meta Quest 3, Quest 2, Quest Pro, SteamVR, and Playstation VR 2. If you want to try the game even earlier, you can sign up for the alpha phase now. It starts on October 9, 2024. Registration is via the game's official Discord server. The developers are hoping for a lot of feedback from the community to further improve the game until release and adapt it to the wishes of the players.
