Cherry Blossom: Two VR hits celebrate birthdays with crossover DLC
A new free DLC puzzle called "Cherry Blossom" is now available for Puzzling Places. It was created in collaboration with Walkabout Mini Golf.
Fans of Walkabout Mini Golf and Puzzling Places are in for a special treat: To celebrate the release anniversaries of both games, the free DLC puzzle "Cherry Blossom" is now available for Puzzling Places. You can download it from September 19th at 19:00 for Meta Quest, PSVR 2 and Pico.
The Cherry Blossom puzzle in Puzzling Places features the following highlights:
- Relaxing sound design: Iconic sound effects from Walkabout Mini Golf merge with the specially composed "Cherry Blossom" soundtrack by composer Chris Reyman. As you put the puzzle together, the soundscape continues to build.
- Beautiful graphics: Puzzling Places features photo-realistic puzzles of real locations. For Cherry Blossom, the developers adapted the pipeline to turn the computer-generated mini-golf course into a detailed miniature model.
- Fun multiplayer mode: Just like Walkabout Mini Golf, Cherry Blossom makes for great multiplayer fun with friends.
In addition to the free DLC, the Cherry Blossom bundle, which includes the base games Puzzling Places and Walkabout Mini Golf is at a 25% discount, available for Meta Quest and Pico from September 19-26. In addition, the ten most popular DLC puzzle packs for Puzzling Places will be reduced by 25 to 50 percent from September 19 to 30.
Two VR hits celebrate a joint anniversary
Puzzling Places and Walkabout Mini Golf are among the most popular and highest rated VR games. The journey began in May 2020 when Puzzling Places launched as a beta on SideQuest. The official release for Meta Quest followed in September 2021.
Since then, the developers have continued to expand the game with new puzzle packs featuring locations from around the world. The free update on May 2, 2023 added online multiplayer to the PSVR 2 version, including cross-play with Meta Quest and Pico, as well as a higher render resolution.
Walkabout Mini Golf VR premiered in Fall 2020 and has since become a top game on Meta Quest, PC-VR, and PSVR 2, as evidenced by over 11,000 positive reviews. The developers are constantly creating new DLC courses, often in collaboration with renowned artists and animation studios, to ensure continued excitement. The all-new Mars Gardens DLC, for example, takes you to a futuristic bio-dome on the red planet.
