The mixed reality game Vivarium lets you create tiny ecosystems
Vivarium lets you raise pets, grow plants, and design creative terrariums. The game is coming exclusively to Pico 4.
Developer DoubleMe has announced the mixed reality title Vivarium.
It is a simulation game that allows players to create unique ecosystems, raise virtual pets and grow plants in a self-designed terrarium. The game is designed to connect users with nature in virtual and mixed reality.
Key features of Vivarium include
- Unique pets and customization options
- Create diverse terrariums by combining different plants, rocks, woods, mosses, animals, and soils
- Design and maintain various ecosystems
- A mission mode with challenges and rewards
- Collect plants and animals for additional rewards
- Display your creations and share them with others
According to DoubleMe, a beta test for Pico users is planned from September 19 to October 3. Participants will be among the first to try out the Vivarium experience.
You can sign up for the beta test on the official website, and get in touch with the fan community on Discord.
The official release of Vivarium is scheduled for the end of October 2024, exclusively on Pico 4.
Vivarium could shine on Pico 4 Ultra
With Vivarium, DoubleMe aims to create a VR game that promotes relaxation, creativity, and a connection to nature.
The ability to create and nurture your own ecosystems is reminiscent of games like Animal Crossing. By using virtual and mixed reality, Vivarium promises a different, more immersive experience.
Pico recently launched the Pico 4 Ultra in and for China. Vivarium should look particularly impressive on the new mixed reality headset and Quest 3 competitor, and we are curious to see if and when the device will make its way to other markets.
