Meta's August sale is running for a few more days. This time, we recommend three indie puzzle gems you won't want to miss.

The discounted games include big titles like Assassin's Creed Nexus VR and Arizona Sunshine 2, classics like the two Moss installments, and newer games like the nerve-wracking vampire hunter game Silent Slayer.

Retropolis 1 & 2
The two Retropolis games are old-school adventures designed from the ground up for virtual reality and easy to play on your couch.
You take on the role of hard-boiled robot detective Philip Log, who tries to help femme fatale Jenny Montage out of a jam and gets caught up in an ever-growing conspiracy.
I reviewed the Quest version of Retropolis 1 and 2 and wrote about it in my review:
"Retropolis brings the best of point-and-click adventure to VR without reinventing the wheel. The puzzles are mostly well done, but the real strength of Retropolis lies in its gorgeous film noir world and characters. Despite what the setting might suggest, nothing here is robotic."

Maskmaker
If you've been playing VR games for years, you've probably gotten used to it. But every once in a while, a title comes along that can rekindle the old fascination, inspire new awe, and elicit "ahs!" and "ohs!" by the dozen. Maskmaker is just such a game.
In this title, you explore a fairytale world, become a virtuoso maskmaker piece by piece, and solve cleverly designed puzzles. All these elements come together in the game to form an atmospheric whole that sometimes makes you forget that you are playing a game instead of living a fairy tale.
Maskmaker is an excellent example of the strengths of virtual reality, its ability to transport us to other, strange places and tell stories as if they were happening to us.

We Are One
We Are One is an innovative VR puzzle shooter that combines clever planning with exciting action. In this game, you create clones of yourself that work in multiple time loops to solve complex puzzles.
The game consists of over 50 varied levels in which you will face off against dangerous robots that pose a threat to the planet. With its unique comic-style graphics and watercolor-inspired palette, both the machines and the natural aspects of the virtual world come to life.
