The update brings the following new features and improvements:

  • Movable panels for multitasking: You can now move and arrange up to three additional 2D panels freely and independently in your home environment. The previous three fixed 2D panels remain, so you now have up to six windows available for multitasking. Another new feature is the "Theater View", which allows you to enlarge a specific panel, bring it front and center and dim everything else. These new features are experimental and are activated under the Experimental settings.
  • Wi-Fi QR Code Scanner (Quest 3 only): You can now use Quest 3 to scan a Wi-Fi QR code to connect to a Wi-Fi network. The feature can be activated under Settings > Wi-Fi.
  • Swipe Typing: The feature known from smartphones reduces typing work by simply swiping your finger or cursor over letters to spell words. The feature can be activated under Settings > System > Keyboard.
  • Immersive media continuity: Videos from Meta Quest TV or the File Viewer can now be accessed and viewed without having to close the current VR app.
  • Improvements for the Do Not Disturb feature: You can now select different time periods for Do Not Disturb.
  • Improvements for eye-tracking (Quest Pro only): The eye-tracking of the Quest Pro has been improved.
  • Creator Content in the Horizon Feed: Meta cooperates with popular Youtubers and now offers their content in the Horizon Feed in Meta Quest and the Meta Quest app.
