Solve the mysteries of Da Vinci in this upcoming Meta Quest game
The escape room game The House of Da Vinci is getting a VR adaptation, due out in 2024 for Meta Quest and PC VR.
You will take on the role of Leonardo da Vinci's apprentice and travel to your master in Florence, only to discover that he has disappeared without a trace. To find clues to his whereabouts, you must solve puzzles, discover hidden objects and escape from rooms.
"We’ve infused our own imagination into the story of the world’s greatest inventor, Leonardo da Vinci, providing players with unique special abilities throughout the gameplay," writes the studio Blue Brain Games. "You will journey back to your early days as a young apprentice, exploring the world of the 16th century, delving into Leonardo’s mechanisms, puzzles, and devices, until you become powerful enough to control time itself and unveil the secrets hidden in the past."
The puzzles are inspired by Da Vinci's inventions and ideas, and many of the locations you visit are based on original artworks and the magnificent Florence of 1506.
According to Blue Brain Games, all puzzles and environments have been redone specifically for the VR version. You will be able to interact with mechanical puzzles and whimsical inventions with your own hands, and see through objects and even into the past with supernatural lenses.
The House of Da Vinci VR will be released later this year on Meta Quest and Steam.
Blue Brain Games are escape room experts
The original game launched in 2017 and is available for numerous platforms. Two sequels were released in 2019 and 2022. Blue Brain Games has another title of this type in development, The House of Tesla, which will be released on Steam in 2024.
The House of Da Vinci VR is inspired by the escape room game The Room, which was successfully adapted for VR with The Room VR: A Dark Matter. Let's hope Blue Brain Games can pull off a similar coup.
