Batman: Arkham Shadow is Meta's first announced first party title created exclusively for Quest 3
Batman: Arkham Shadow is a major VR title coming exclusively to Quest 3 this holiday season.
Batman: Arkham Shadow is being developed by Meta's VR studio Camouflaj, which previously developed Iron Man VR. Partners are Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC.
Not much is known about the game so far, and the teaser trailer gives little away. The official unveiling will take place on June 7th at the Summer Game Fest.
Batman: Arkham Shadow will be released at the end of 2024 for Meta Quest 3.
A great Christmas for VR fans
Camouflaj is one of nine VR studios owned by Meta. Meta announced the acquisition of Camouflaj in October 2022.
Batman: Arkham Shadow is Meta's first announced first-party title to be built from the ground up for Quest 3. Asgard's Wrath 2 had Quest 2 as its primary platform and was later updated to take advantage of the added power of Quest 3.
A few days ago, another major title was announced, Alien: Rogue Incursion, which will be released for Quest 3, but not Quest 2 and Quest Pro. The upcoming mixed reality games Starship Home and Laser Dance will also only be playable on the new headset.
The announcement comes rather early and the timing is a bit surprising. If Meta is hosting another Quest Gaming Showcase this year, what else does it have up its sleeve? With titles like Alien: Rogue Incursion, Behemoth, and Batman: Arkham Shadow, VR fans can look forward to a great Christmas already.
