VR multiplayer hopeful Mannequin is coming to Meta Quest

Alien invasion in VR: Asymmetric multiplayer stealth game Mannequin enters Early Access on Meta Quest.

FACTS

Fast Travel Games has announced that its social stealth VR game Mannequin will launch in Early Access on App Lab for Meta Quest 3, Quest 2 and Quest Pro on May 2, 2024. A PC VR version on Steam is also planned.

The Early Access version of Mannequin will include all four maps that were previously released in pairs during the Open Alpha phase. All maps have been graphically overhauled. The Meta Quest friend system will also be supported. Players will be listed with their Meta account names and will have access to their in-game friend lists.

Mannequin will also support group play, and custom games can be password protected. In addition, the gameplay is said to be smoother and there are other new features, such as a left-handed mode.

The game will cost just under $20, but a discount campaign will reduce the price by half during the launch weekend. More information on the availability of discount codes will be announced on Mannequin's social media channels after the launch of Early Access.

The free Open Alpha on SideQuest will end on April 28th, before the game enters Early Access. There will also be a community tournament on Discord to celebrate the end of the Open Alpha.

CONTEXT

Asymmetrical multiplayer stealth game set amidst an alien invasion

In Mannequin, the world has been infiltrated by aliens in an unspecified future. The PvP games are designed for up to five players, who must side with either the aliens or the military rescue forces to defeat their opponents.

The aliens have special abilities, such as the ability to turn into frozen people and become invisible to their opponents. Mannequin will be released this year not only for Meta Quest 2 and Quest 3, but also for PC-VR and Playstation VR 2.

Fast Travel Games on the road to success

Swedish VR studio Fast Travel Games has sold more than one million VR games and expects strong growth in the coming years. To be prepared for the future, Fast Travel Games has secured investments of 4 million Euros through a new share issue in October 2023. This will be used to invest in the studio and future games.

Fast Travel Games more than doubled its revenue in the Christmas period of 2023 compared to the previous year, mainly due to the success of the VR game Vampire: The Masquerade — Justice, which sold over 100,000 copies in November and December alone. The studio hopes to build on that success with Mannequin.
