The DLC "80s Mixtape Side A" is now also available for Playstation VR 2.

Get out your shoulder pads and leggings: The 80s Mixtape — Side A DLC lets you dance to classics like "Take On Me" in Synth Riders.

FACTS

The VR rhythm game Synth Riders by Kluge Interactive is expanding its song list with five iconic hits from the 80s. The new DLC package "80s Mixtape — Side A" brings catchy tunes like "Take On Me" by a-ha, "Whip It" by DEVO and "Sussudio" by Phil Collins to the virtual dance floor.

Maintaining the '80s theme, Kluge Interactive has added a new retro-futuristic, vaporwave-style arena to the game, which is available for free to all players on Meta Quest 3, Quest 2, Quest Pro, PSVR 2 and PC-VR.

The five new songs are now available to Apple Vision Pro users through Apple Arcade. The package will be released on April 18 for the Meta Quest and SteamVR platforms and shortly afterward for Playstation VR 2. The songs can be purchased individually for $1.99 or as a bundle for $7.99.

All songs from the "80s Mixtape - Side A" package:

  • "Take On Me" — a-ha
  • "Whip It" — DEVO
  • "We Built This City" — Starship
  • "Sussudio" — Phil Collins
  • "New Sensation" — INXS
CONTEXT

First music pack since the release of the Apple Vision Pro version

The gameplay of Synth Riders is similar to Beat Saber or Audio Trip: you hit different colored balls to the rhythm of pounding beats. However, Synth Riders focuses on dance-like movements and makes our list of the best VR fitness games on Meta Quest with its challenging gameplay and retro-futuristic arenas. Synth Riders was also recently released on Apple's Vision Pro. Kluge released a revised version with over 70 songs from various genres.

The Apple Vision Pro version received an update on March 22, adding a local party mode and game center achievements. The party mode allows multiple Apple Vision Pro users to play against each other on the same device. Gameplay can be streamed to a compatible Apple TV or AirPlay device, so spectators can watch the action.
