Critically acclaimed VR game Humanity is coming to Meta Quest 3
Humanity, a critically acclaimed VR game that was previously only available on Playstation VR 2 and Steam, is finally coming to Meta Quest.
Humanity, which has won multiple awards and was nominated for Best VR Game at the Game Awards 2023, will be released for Meta Quest 3, Quest 2 and Quest Pro on March 14, 2024. Until the release, pre-orderers will receive a 20 percent discount and pay just under $20. After that, the skill game will cost $24.99.
The gameplay of Humanity is based on the principle of the classic skill game Lemmings. Humanity, in the form of a horde of little figures, is heading towards its doom, and only a Shiba Inu dog can save the masses from the abyss.
You control the dog, place signposts and lead the masses safely to their destination. The game is played from a diorama perspective, accompanied by experimental synth sounds.
Award-winning VR game
Humanity was released last summer for PS4 and PSVR, Playstation 5 and Playstation VR 2, and PC VR via Steam, where it can be played in Virtual Reality as well as on a regular screen. On Sony's consoles, Humanity has been included in the Extra and Premium tiers of the PlayStation Plus subscription service since its release.
Behind the surreal experience are director and renowned graphic designer Yugo Nakamura and renowned game designer Tetsuya Mizuguchi, responsible for the VR games Rez Infinite and Tetris Effect: Connected, among others.
The pair won several awards with Humanity, including the VR Game of the Year Award at the EDGE Awards 2023 and a nomination for Best VR/AR Game at the Game Awards 2023. In the end, however, Humanity was beaten by Resident Evil Village's VR mode.
