The best VR tennis game keeps getting better with updates
- Fun Courts Update released
Racket Club continues to be improved and expanded after its release. A new update brings two new courts, a ball cannon and an extra strong AI opponent.
Racket Club was released on December 14, 2023.
I raved about the VR game in my Racket Club review. It has excellent ball physics and its mixed reality support allows me to play this unique combination of tennis, squash, and pickleball safely in my (rather small) living room.
Racket Club is available for $25 in the Quest Store, the Pico Store and on Steam.
Below is a list of updates in chronological order.
The Fun Courts update brings the following new features and improvements:
- Two new courts (a wider court and a Spinminton court)
- Ball Cannon for players to use in any court
- New max level to achieve & new clothes
- Personality bot set for World Tour Level that was trained on the #1 player in Racket Club (beautyninja)
- New time of the day available in the club, dusk!
- Improved bots at all levels
- No more serve time when playing against bots
- Push to talk feature has been added
- Tuning controls for racket adapters
- Bug fixes
The first major update brings the following new features and improvements:
- Unranked Play - Not every competition needs to move you up the ladder; jump into casual games with other players any time
- New Point System - Choose from the existing Ultra Rally points system or single point rallies in any match
- Wall Serve Rules - Players can choose if they want to allow touching the back and side walls on serves
- New Singles Drills - Mastered the existing training mode? Players can now practice and improve their accuracy and techniques with fresh drills in the singles court
- Player Stats - Track your progress, see how you've performed and more in a complete redesign of the Player Profile menu
- Fresh Threads - Play your best when you look your best with all new cosmetics now available to unlock
