Alvo VR: "Counter-Strike for VR" comes to Playstation VR 2
Tactical shooter Alvo VR arrives on PlayStation VR 2 with improved graphics and haptics.
Alvo VR returns to Sony's VR headset with an update. The tactical shooter, which is visually and gameplay-wise very reminiscent of the PC classic Counter-Strike, has already been released for PSVR in 2019 and Meta Quest 2 in 2022. Now comes the conversion for Playstation VR 2.
Alvo VR: Extensive PSVR 2 update
On September 14th, the multiplayer shooter Alvo VR will be released on the PlayStation VR 2 and could compete with the popular military shooter Pavlov. For owners of the PSVR version, a paid upgrade is possible, which should cost around $5.
Developer OutsideIn Entertainment announced some improvements compared to the original PSVR version and the Quest 2 version. Check out the trailer below for a first look at the PSVR 2 implementation.
Among other things, the dynamic lighting has been enhanced, and the resolution has been boosted to 4K. The colors also look richer than in the graphically rather mediocre Quest 2 version. The haptic features of the PSVR 2 on the forehead pad and in the Sense Controllers are also supported.
VR shooter with cross-platform support
Alvo VR promises a tactical gaming experience with a variety of modes – from Free-for-All to Team Deathmatch to Search and Destroy. The difficulty level is intended for casual and competitive players alike.
In the online multiplayer games, cross-platform 5-against-5 matches are possible. You can, for example, play against gamers on the PSVR 2 who use Alvo VR on the Quest 2.
It is not yet clear whether and to what extent OutsideIn Entertainment will provide Alvo VR on the Playstation VR 2 with new content. For the Quest version, the developers provided updates with new maps and weapons.
