Rockstar Games may be working on a new VR game
A possible new VR game from Rockstar Games, the studio behind GTA, may have been accidentally revealed by an actor's resume.
A new VR game may be in development at Rockstar Games. According to media reports, the resume of an actor and voice actor has revealed this. Michael Ursu has worked on several video and VR games for Take Two, the publisher and owner of Rockstar Games.
Unknown Rockstar VR game on the resume
In his resume, Ursu listed an Elton John VR promo and Wanderer VR under the “VR” column. An “unnamed Rockstar game” was also listed.
Meanwhile, the entry has been removed from the resume, indicating that the project was indeed not ready to be announced. There has been no official statement from Rockstar Games.
A new VR game from Rockstar Games could give a boost to the currently dormant VR gaming and would indicate that the studio has taken a liking to VR again. After all, Rockstar Games is no newcomer to virtual reality.
Rockstar Games: No VR Newcomer
In 2017, VR adaptations from major game brands were still hip. In addition to Bethesda (Skyrim VR, Doom VFR, and Fallout 4 VR), Rockstar Games also released a VR spin-off of a well-known video game with L.A. Noire: The VR Case Files, albeit to moderate success.
After an extended VR hiatus, a VR version of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas was announced for Meta Quest 2, Quest Pro, and Meta Quest 3 in 2021.
Rockstar Games is known for keeping its projects top secret. Nothing was known about the highly anticipated GTA 6 for years until a leak showed images from the early development phase of the video game. So, it will be a while before more details are released about this possible new VR game.
