Travel to feudal 15th-century Japan and embark on a bloody vendetta in the sandals of the shinobi assassin Kenshiro. Your goal: assassinate a gang of criminals who overthrew your noble house and killed your family.

Over the course of the game, you'll have to reclaim the six castles of the same name from the bandits using various assassination techniques. You won't be entirely alone in this endeavor, as you'll have a brave and loyal wolf companion named Haru at your side.

Realistic sword fights

How you go about it is up to you: You can sneak up from behind, set traps, seek out open confrontation, or unleash Haru on enemies. The weapons used are all historically accurate, from your katana to a bow and arrow.

To create the swordplay, the studio went to great lengths to hire Russell McCartney, a world record holder in Japanese swordplay. His maneuvers and movements were recorded for the VR game. So you are fighting against a real sword master.

A forgotten VR game makes a comeback

Arashi: Castles of Sin was released exclusively for Playstation VR in 2021, which war quite late, and accordingly received little attention.

In the fall, the VR game will make a comeback with the Final Cut edition on current VR platforms, namely Meta Quest 2 & 3, Playstation VR 2 and PC VR.

Final Cut was developed by Skydance Interactive (The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners 1 & 2, Behemoth), a studio known for its believable physics-based melee combat.

The VR studio promises improved visuals, updated enemy and boss behavior, revamped controls, and tons of additional quality-of-life features.
