Horizon Worlds: New photo feature for Instagram and Facebook
Meta is testing a new photo feature in Horizon Worlds. Will it give Mark Zuckerberg's Metaverse the boost it was hoping for?
Meta is rolling out a new feature for its social VR platform, Horizon Worlds. Users can now share photos and videos of their virtual experiences directly to their stories on Instagram and Facebook. The photo sharing feature is part of the new v108 update and can be accessed through the Media Gallery or Horizon Camera.
However, it is still in the testing phase. Meta says that currently about half of Horizon Worlds users have access to it. However, Meta plans to release the feature to everyone before the end of May.
Photo Sharing Feature to Revitalize Horizon Worlds
Meta hopes the feature will encourage more people to try out Horizon Worlds. The company also wants to show how its various services work together to provide a seamless user experience.
It remains to be seen whether the math will work out. Already last year, Meta had to revise its user target for the VR platform significantly downwards. This is in line with reports that only one in ten people return to Mark Zuckerberg's Metaverse design after visiting Horizon Worlds. Recently, Meta officially allowed teens to access Horizon Worlds for the first time.
